Position Overview: The Manufacturing Specialist Trainee at Makino Vietnam will undergo a comprehensive 6-month rotational training program to gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in various departments related to CNC machine assembly and manufacturing operations. The role is designed to build a strong foundation in assembly processes, process engineering, quality control, supplier quality engineering, and warehouse management. This position prepares the trainee for a future role as a Manufacturing Specialist within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manufacturing Engineering Assembly
• Improve assembly processes to reduce costs and optimize standard time and throughput.
• Troubleshoot machine, equipment, material, and part issues; implement corrective and preventive actions
• Develop, update, and standardize process documents, work instructions, and production standards for internal teams and suppliers
• Design jigs, fixtures, and machine skids (Machanical engineer); Assembly units testing simulator design for in-house and external (
Electrical engineer), support equipment selection and sourcing for production.
• Lead product transfer activities and optimize production layout based on operational needs.
Manage ECO, maintain BOM, perform time studies, and update routing in SAP system
• Handle defect reporting and analysis (PDR, ECR, SPR, DIR), and support fieldissue investigation with corrective actions.
• Support NPI/prototyping, production control, outsourcing (vendor quality & improvement), costing analysis, and ISO/OSHA compliance
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
2. Production inventory control
• Assigned production processes, ensuring stable operation and meeting production targets.
• Monitor daily production performance (output, yield, downtime) and take immediate actions to address any abnormalities
• Analyze and resolve production-related technical issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

• Develop and update work instructions (WI), SOPs, and process standards to ensure consistency and quality.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., productivity, cost reduction, defect reduction, cycle time optimization).
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and process setup, ensuring readiness for mass production.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and 5S requirements in the production area
• Train and provide technical guidance to operators and technicians to enhance skill levels and performance
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
3. QA/ QC
QA
• Ensure quality control of parts, products, and related records within the assigned area.
• Monitor quality trends and drive corrective actions to address issues.
• Lead and follow up on quality issues through to final resolution; coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and maintain inspection and quality documentation.
• Conduct root cause analysis and prepare investigation reports.
• Train and develop junior engineers; assign and manage daily team tasks.
• Engage with customers and suppliers on product quality matters.
• Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and compliance with EHS and company procedures; support smooth operations in the absence of management.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
SQC
• Perform incoming quality inspections (IQC) for materials and components based on drawings, specifications, and inspection plans; manage classification and handling of non-conforming items and maintain inspection records and defect reports.
• Conduct in-process and final product inspections; collaborate with Production to detect issues early, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality improvement actions.
• Act as the main contact for supplier quality issues, including claims, corrective actions, and performance tracking.
• Conduct supplier audits, evaluations, and quality rating; follow up and verify 8D and corrective action reports.
• Maintain supplier defect statistics and drive continuous quality improvement.
• Support the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001.
• Prepare, update, and control quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and forms.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
