Middle School English Team Leader - Deputy Head of English Department

1. Role purpose:
To support and collaborate with the Head of English Department in leading, monitoring, and developing the implementation of the school's English language curriculum across all school levels, while taking primary responsibility for the Middle School English team
2. Key responsibilities:
2.1. Curriculum quality assurance: Under the assignment of the Head of English Department, responsibilities include:
- Supporting the review and approval process for curriculum frameworks, course outlines, assessment blueprints, examinations, learning projects, and experiential learning activities.
- Conducting classroom observations to monitor and enhance teaching quality.
- Participating in the evaluation of curriculum effectiveness and student learning outcomes; proposing solutions to improve curriculum quality, educational outcomes.
- Participating in regular professional learning and departmental meetings to support the achievement of annual school goals.
- Collaborating with school leadership teams to oversee academic quality and provide professional guidance for curriculum implementation.
- Contributing to the development and review of academic policies, procedures, and quality assurance processes.
2.2. Teacher development and training:
- Proposing and implementing professional development programs tailored to the needs of the English Department.
- Delivering training, coaching, and mentoring to support teachers in implementing the curriculum effectively.
- Establishing partnerships and organizing professional workshops, seminars, and training sessions to support the professional growth of teachers, subject leaders, and academic vice principals.
2.3. Curriculum research and development
- Participating in the research, design, and development of the school curriculum in alignment with the school's strategic direction, including curriculum frameworks and course syllabi.
- Supporting the development, selection, and enhancement of teaching and learning resources, and providing guidance to subject teams.
- Participating in professional learning and research initiatives aimed at improving curriculum quality frameworks and teaching effectiveness.
2.4. External relations and stakeholder engagement:
- Monitoring and responding to parent feedback, participating in parent meetings, and providing academic consultation to parents when required
- Proactively identifying and engaging educational consultants and experts to support teacher development and curriculum implementation
- Building relationships with partner organizations, educational authorities, and professional networks; participating in conferences, workshops, academic forums.
- Contributing to the planning and coordination of collaborative initiatives with external partners and supporting the expansion of strategic partnerships.
