Planning & Analytics Team Lead (Supply Chain)

The Supply Chain Planning & Analytics Team Leader is responsible for leading and supporting a remote-based supply chain support team delivering operational planning, reporting, analytics, and scenario modelling services to the broader business.
Reporting to the S&OP Manager, this role combines hands-on operational responsibilities with team leadership to ensure all daily planning activities, cyclical reporting requirements, and ad hoc analytical requests are completed accurately and within agreed timeframes.
The role will oversee a team supporting distribution planning, supply chain reporting, dashboard development, master data management, and OM Partners (OMP) scenario modelling activities across the Visy supply chain network.
Working closely with Australian-based operational and supply chain stakeholders, the Team Leader will ensure the offshore support function operates as an effective extension of the local supply chain team by maintaining high service standards, strong communication, and a continuous improvement mindset.
This role requires a proactive leader who is comfortable operating in both operational and strategic environments while remaining actively involved in day-to-day planning and analytical activities.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operational Coordination
• Lead and support the daily activities of the Supply Chain Planning & Analytics team.
• Allocate and prioritise workload across operational planning, reporting, and analytical activities.
• Ensure all daily operational planning tasks, cyclical reporting requirements, and on-demand analytical requests are completed accurately and on time.
• Provide hands-on support across team activities during peak operational periods or escalations.
• Support the development, coaching, and capability uplift of team members.
Distribution Planning Oversight
• Oversee daily distribution planning activities across metro and linehaul freight networks.
• Support planning activities relating to:
• Recycled fibre movements to paper mills
• Paper reel deliveries to internal and external customers
• Road, rail, and sea freight operations
• Ensure inventory levels and storage facilities remain within agreed operational and safe working limits.
• Support continuity of supply across the network by maintaining agreed minimum stock levels.
• Assist Visy Logistics in optimising freight network performance through effective lane balancing and transport planning support.
Reporting, Analytics & Performance Management
• Oversee development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and supply chain reporting tools.
• Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of supply chain performance against:
S&OP plans
Budget targets
Mid-month estimates
Operational KPIs
• Review and validate analysis, reporting outputs, and management commentary prepared by the team.
• Support management with operational insights, trend analysis, and performance investigations.
Scenario Planning & Decision Support
• Coordinate and support scenario modelling activities using OM Partners (OMP) and related planning systems.
• Ensure timely completion of management and executive requests for:
"What if" analysis
Network optimisation scenarios
Capacity planning
Inventory modelling
Supply disruption and contingency planning
• Assist in translating complex modelling outputs into practical business recommendations.
• Encourage proactive identification of improvement opportunities and independent scenario analysis within the team.
Data Governance & Continuous Improvement
• Ensure integrity and maintenance of key supply chain master data
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across reporting, planning, analytics, and operational processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate, standardise, and improve team workflows and reporting capability.
• Support strong process discipline and governance across the remote support function.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Build effective working relationships with Australian operational stakeholders across:
Supply Chain
Visy Logistics
Manufacturing
Visyboard box plants
Visy Paper mills
Finance
Commercial teams
• Act as a key escalation and coordination point between the offshore support team and local operational stakeholders.
• Support a collaborative and service-oriented team culture.
