Job Purpose
The Retail Manager - Food is responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving sales performance, ensuring food safety compliance, and delivering excellent customer experience across the assigned food retail area. This role also manages brand relationships, merchandising execution, and team performance to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store Operations & Sales Management
Oversee daily retail operations to ensure smooth execution and achievement of sales targets
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance; take timely corrective actions when needed
Lead, guide, and motivate staff and promoters to achieve sales and service goals
Conduct regular sales floor inspections to identify operational issues, service gaps, and compliance risks
Organize weekly team meetings to review performance, address issues, and drive continuous improvement
Prepare and submit sales, operational, and performance reports
2. Sales & Profit Management
Plan, manage, and control sales and profitability (including gross margin)
Analyze sales trends and financial data to support performance improvement and business decisions
Identify opportunities to maximize revenue and optimize cost efficiency
3. Customer Service Excellence
Ensure consistent implementation of high service standards across all counters
Act as a role model with a customer-first mindset and professional conduct
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations effectively
Coach frontline staff to deliver excellent customer experience in a premium retail environment
Collect customer feedback and drive service improvements
4. Brand & Supplier Management
Manage assigned brands and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners
Monitor and evaluate brand performance; propose improvement and development plans
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities
Negotiate commercial terms, promotions, and supplier support programs
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards in line with company and local regulations
Coordinate with brands to improve food safety standards based on QA results
Manage brand lifecycle, including brand onboarding and offboarding
5. Merchandising & Visual Execution
Ensure product display and merchandising follow company and brand guidelines
Oversee visual merchandising to maintain an attractive and consistent sales floor
Monitor pricing accuracy, stock display, cleanliness, and overall presentation
Analyze trends and plan seasonal merchandise (e.g., Mid-Autumn Festival, Tet Holiday)
Support layout changes, renovations, and special display projects
6. Promotion & Cross-functional Coordination
Support and execute promotions, events, and marketing campaigns
Coordinate with internal teams (MD, Marketing, Operations, VM, Customer Service, etc.)
Propose promotional initiatives to drive traffic, sales, and profitability
Monitor and evaluate promotion effectiveness; provide post-event reports
Collaborate with suppliers to align promotions with customer trends
7. Compliance & Team Development
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and retail standards
Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and professional conduct
Provide training and coaching on customer service, selling skills, product knowledge, and grooming
Prepare periodic reports (daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly)
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail, F&B, or related fields
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in retail, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role
Experience in MNC, department store, or F&B retail environment is highly preferred
Strong knowledge of retail operations and merchandising
Skills
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
Strong analytical and reporting skills
