What we're looking for:
Join Herond Labs, a fast-growing Vietnamese startup at the forefront of crypto innovation and disruptive technology. Fresh off the successful global launch of our multi-platform web browser (used by millions worldwide) and supporting a venture capital fund managing multi-million-dollar investments in cutting-edge tech, we're expanding our team to accelerate our mission. We are seeking a seasoned Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in AWS and Azure to design, implement, and optimize cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud environments, with a strong focus on cloud cost optimization as a critical responsibility.
Role and responsibilities:
- Operate in a biweekly Agile sprint environment, engaging in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos, and other Scrum rituals to drive iterative development and team collaboration.
- Deploy, manage, and monitor cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Monitor, analyze and optimize cloud resources for cost-efficiency by analyzing usage patterns, rightsizing instances, and leveraging reserved capacity or spot instances.
- Implement governance policies for cloud spending and resource allocation.
- Automate provisioning, scaling, and decommissioning of resources to minimize waste and reduce costs.
- Design and implement cost-saving strategies, including budget alerts, tagging policies, and automated shutdowns for non-production environments.
- Partner with finance and engineering teams to forecast cloud spending and align with organizational goals.
- Implement monitoring solutions using LGTM stack to track performance, uptime, and cost metrics.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery, ensuring seamless integration, testing, and deployment across environments.
- Set up alerts for cost overruns, performance bottlenecks, and security incidents.
- Enforce security best practices (IAM, network policies, encryption) across AWS and Azure.
- Document processes, tools, workflows and all optimization strategies in a centralized knowledge base.
- Mentor and train new team members, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to excel in DevOps practices and tools.
Your Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years in DevOps/SRE roles with hands-on expertise in deploying and managing AWS/Azure infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, ..) and monitoring/security tools.
- 3+ years of CI/CD pipeline experience (Jenkins, GitHub CI/CD) for multi-environment deployments and artifact repositories.
- Proficiency in Scrum ceremonies, collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence), and strong communication skills for iterative development.
- Strong background in cloud cost management (budgeting, forecasting, optimization).
- Experience designing cloud governance frameworks (tagging, quotas) with AWS
- Organizations, Azure Policy, and compliance knowledge (GDPR, HIPAA).
- Advanced scripting skills (Python, Bash) for automating provisioning, scaling, and decommissioning with CI/CD-driven workflows.
- Expertise in cost-saving strategies like budget alerts, automated tagging, automated shutdowns, ..
- Proficiency in LGTM stack for monitoring, dashboards, alerts, and integrating with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience setting up alerting systems for cost overruns, performance bottlenecks, and anomaly detection.
- Deep understanding of cloud security and compliance frameworks with vulnerability scanning tools.
- Strong technical writing skills for documenting processes, tools, and workflows using tools like Confluence, Notion, or GitHub Wiki.
- Proven mentoring experience, designing training programs, and fostering a collaborative, learning-focused culture for new team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, or FinOps Certified Practitioner.
