The Role: Senior / Junior Master Planner
We are seeking a Senior / Junior Master Planner to support the planning, urban design and project coordination of high-quality master planning and mixed-use development projects. The role contributes to strategic planning concepts, site-responsive design solutions and coordinated project documentation, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, consultants, and relevant authorities from concept development through implementation.
The appointed level will be determined based on the candidate's experience, technical capability and demonstrated ability to lead planning work streams independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and delivery of master plans, urban design studies, planning frameworks, feasibility studies and development strategies for a range of project types and scales;
- Undertake site, context, demographic, market, regulatory and infrastructure analysis to inform planning and urban design proposals;
- Develop planning concepts, land-use strategies, development controls, circulation networks, public realm proposals, phasing strategies and design guidelines;
- Contribute to design development through concept, schematic, design-development and implementation stages, as applicable to the project scope;
- Prepare clear and compelling planning diagrams, presentation materials, reports, design narratives and client submissions;
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and deliverable outcomes;
- Review applicable planning regulations, codes, standards and authority requirements, and incorporate relevant requirements into project proposals;
- Participate in internal design reviews, client meetings, workshops and presentations; communicate planning rationale clearly and professionally;
- Handle internal and external project communication and correspondence professionally;
- Conduct research on relevant planning, urban development and market trends, and share useful insights with the team.
Senior-specific scopes:
- Lead assigned master planning and urban design workstreams, ensuring the quality, coordination and timely completion of deliverables;
- Develop robust planning strategies and design solutions, and provide clear direction on assigned project components;
- Manage coordination across internal disciplines, consultants and other project stakeholders; identify key interface issues and drive their resolution;
- Represent the Master Planning team in client meetings, workshops, presentations and authority discussions, as required;
- Review work produced by junior team members; provide technical guidance, mentoring and constructive feedback.
