Resposible for editing and preparing technical documents for publication. Documents are mainly MCU application notes, hardware/software manuals and other technical documents. Must be able to produce clear and easy-to-understand documents in Renesas format in MS Word and convert to PDF. Must be able to work with engineers to develop or clarify contents.
Required skills:
o Technical communication in English
o Moderate-advanced use of MS Word
o Some knowledge of MCU, software and IoT terms and technology
o Familiarity with SharePoint and JIRA
Also responsible for creating HTML and PDF versions of MCU software user's manual using document generation tools. Must be able to use version control tool like Git. Must have some knowledge of code documentation tools like Doxygen or Java Docs. Must be able to use Markdown as well as HTML, XML, and CSS. Should be able to manage and maintain conversion tools based on Python.
Required skills
o Familiarity with Git or other version-control system
o Experience with Markdown, HTML, CSS, and XML
o Familiarity with Doxygen or other document generation systems like Javadocs
o Familiarity with Eclipse or e2 studio IDE useful
o Experience with Python or other scripting languages
o Familiarity with MCU C coding terms
Qualifications:
At least three (5) years of technical writing or technical editing. Experience creating small and large documents with MS Word, Markdown, XML, HTML, and PDF.
Ability to manage and maintain a document conversion system based on source code and Markdown. System includes git for source version control, Markdown, HTML and PDF. Must be able to maintain and improve conversion scripts in Python and other scripting languages.
Specialized knowledge:
Knowledge of clear technical writing and document formatting, MCU and semiconductor terminology, MS Word and PDF. Also, knowledge of Markdown, XML, HTML, CSS and similar text systems. Should be able to use Python or other scripting language to transform text and automate documentation processes.
Familiarity with Doxygen or similar code documentation tools (Java Docs), version control systems like git, and SharePoint as a document management system useful.
Useful but not necessary knowledge includes some written Japanese for operating translation software, Drupal for interfacing with web team, JIRA for ticketing, and XML authoring systems.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication or Electrical Engineering preferred. English degree with more than five years experience in technical writing field accaeptable.
