JOB PURPOSE
Through expertise in Materials Management, Logistics and general supply chain, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the flow of raw materials/components to finished products. The flow should guarantee customer satisfaction whilst optimizing cash flow and wider operational metrics.
MAIN DUTIES
Participate in defining the site's Supply Chain Strategy
• Drives the strategic transformation of the location's supply chain network to maximize alignment with critical business KPIs.
• Engineers process modernizations by sourcing, adapting, and deploying advanced technological innovations from the broader Parker enterprise.
• Spearheads continuous improvement initiatives, leading high performance teams (HPT) and Kaizen events to overhaul supply chain structures.
• Unifying cross functional stakeholders, including Production, Quality, Finance, HR to synchronize transformation efforts and accelerate goal delivery.
• Deconstructs customer OTD performance metrics to diagnose systemic vulnerabilities and implement high impact corrective frameworks.
• Revolutionize inventory management strategies to drastically optimize stock levels, velocity, and capital turnover rates.
• Architects end to end value chain diagnostics to guide strategic Make or Buy decision making and structural shifts.
• Catalyzes the evolution of digital supply chain tools, maximizing their operational efficiency, integration, and performance.
• Champions the integration and compliance of rigorous AS9100, Military USG, and global regulatory standards throughout the transformed supply chain ecosystem.
Management
• Promotes and fosters safe work environment
• Empowers and govern teams in strict alignment with modern safety, quality, trade compliance, ethical, and diversity frameworks.
• Models financial discipline by engineering, auditing, and optimizing departmental budgets to maximize resource efficiency.
• Establishes robust data analytics pipelines to generate, validate, and broadcast high fidelity activity intelligence.
• Fosters matrixed collaboration with internal peers to break down operational silos and share best practices.
• Accelerates talent development by identifying high potential contributors and building robust internal promotion pipelines.
Development of Materials Management Processes
• Syncs site operational roadmaps with macro level strategic planning goals dictated by Division Material Leadership.
• Translate global division benchmarks into agile, custom tailored local scheduling workflows that respect site specific constraints.
• Embeds lean methodologies deeply into physical material flows, space utilization, and inventory control nodes.
• Synthesizes predictive demand forecasting and dynamic supply planning to guarantee material availability at the absolute lowest total cost.
• Calibrates Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and capacity modeling to secure division performance.
• Balances working capital by driving Inventory % of Sales ratios down while simultaneously elevating customer service metrics.
• Collaborates with business partners to optimize customer experience by utilizing buying and reselling strategies and warehouse management.
• Standardizes automated replenishment signals and delivery protocols to eliminate manual supply chain friction.
• Execute rigorous Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) cycles to align capacity with demand using minimal footprint.
• Utilizes forecasting tools to create effective demand management processes.
• Utilizes corporate eCapacity and eProcurement tools to aggressively manage, reflow, or cancel production and purchase orders.
• Integrates advanced data analytics and information technology systems to multiply overall division efficiency metrics.
• Enforces absolute master data integrity, focusing heavily on lead time accuracy to protect scheduling validity.
• Secures long term operational continuity by systematically managing the internal materials management talent pipeline.
Transportation and Logistics
• Implements logistics management techniques globally including import/export management, total cost management, and duty/tariff management
• Plans transportation routes that minimize cost and enable meeting/exceeding customers' service expectations
• Implements sophisticated transportation system such as Parker's transportation management system
• Develops and implements logistical strategies to ensure the distribution of products and materials domestically and globally
• Ensures compliance to industry regulations/requirements as applicable (i.e. - Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism/CTPA, International Traffic in Arms Regulations/ITAR and HTF Coding- Tariff payment)
Sourcing & Procurement - In collaboration with the Division Sourcing team
• Drive overall strategic sourcing initiatives to minimize risk, reduce costs, and ensure best value continuity of supply.
• Support team activities to meet divisional goals for spend aggregation, supplier consolidation, rationalization, and segmentation
• Responsible to guarantee the good execution of the annual savings plan at the site by working and prioritizing savings opportunities with the Division Sourcing & Procurement Team.
• This site has some location sourcing specialists that must contribute to the savings plan locally.
• Spend family includes all required for the site: Direct, indirect and CAPEX (investment expenditures)
• Ensures team compliance with Parker policy and procedures, and government requirements.
Tactical
Purchasing• Ensure division process and procedures are respected and if required a local adjustment is performed in compliance with the Division view.
• Manage with the local team, best purchase price, allocation, quality, shortest lead time and lowest MOQ when purchasing parts & services (direct- indirect) for the site.
• Execute the pricelist negotiated by Division and ensure the preferred supplier lists choices are followed.
• Manage purchasing of parts and services in a lean fashion way and guarantee to never create parts shortages for the production as well as to manage the lowest possible level of stock for cash optimization.
• Perform with team supplier delivery performance escalation if agreed terms are not respected on a bespoke basis. Work with the Division Team to further escalate if problem become chronical.
