The position of Ocean Operation Coordinator at [JTT Vietnam] is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the end-to-end logistics of ocean freight shipments to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient transportation of goods. This role involves close collaboration with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to manage documentation, track shipments, resolve operational issues, and maintain compliance with international trade regulations.
- Shipment Coordination:
- Plan, schedule, and monitor ocean freight shipments, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company objectives.
- Communicate with shipping lines, NVOCCs, and port terminals to secure bookings and space allocation.
- Track vessel schedules, container movements, and transit times to mitigate delays.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare and review shipping documents (e.g., Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin).
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations (e.g., INCOTERMS), and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) guidelines.
- Liaise with customs brokers for smooth clearance processes.
- Customer & Vendor Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, and logistics partners regarding shipment status and issue resolution.
- Negotiate freight rates and service terms with carriers and third-party vendors.
- Problem Solving & Risk Mitigation:
- Proactively identify operational bottlenecks (e.g., port congestion, demurrage/detention risks) and implement corrective actions.
- Handle claims for cargo damage, delays, or discrepancies in collaboration with insurance providers.
- Data & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records in logistics management systems.
- Generate reports on shipment performance, costs, and KPIs for management review.
- Report to JTT VN Ocean Operation Manager.
