PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF ROLE
The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and expanding the reseller business within assigned wholesale and retail geo-markets (Southeast Asian DMC market, regional Asian market, Australia and New Zealand).
The role focuses on creating and executing strategic and operational plans that drive sustainable sales growth, strengthen partnerships, and enhance market reach. The manager formulates quarterly sales and marketing plans with clear performance objectives, translating them into actionable sales (and marketing) initiatives and measurable results. A key aspect of the position is maintaining and deepening relationships with existing partners while identifying, sourcing, and developing new business opportunities. The role requires a understanding of the DMC segment in its function as a wholesaler re-selling the company's products to international markets (to wholesale and retail). Understanding the
business development context, the BD Manager knows how to liaise and collaborate with linked market segments (retail in particular) that operate through third-party wholesalers in a global framework and is able to define strategies and activities that will optimize performance in holistic approach.
The ideal candidate demonstrates a rounded understanding of sales and marketing, integrating product updates, targeted training, and both virtual and in-person engagements to achieve business goals. The person also knows how to design and implement creative campaigns that build brand visibility, product awareness as well as generate leads in the defined markets and segments. Sales Manager lead and motivates a local team of
business development executives, monitoring their daily, weekly, and monthly performance to ensure execution of strategy and activities align with the periodic plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and expand the reseller business across assigned wholesale and retail markets
• Manage key accounts in assigned markets on own initiative
• Create and implement quarterly business and marketing plans with defined objectives, activities, and performance targets
• Roll out the quarterly plan including personal and team actions and monitor it closely
• Strengthen and maintain relationships with existing partners to ensure continued growth and collaboration.
• Identify, source, and develop new business opportunities, accounts or partners, and distribution channels.
• Plan and execute based on quantity target qualified BD activities such as sales meetings, e-meetings, webinar, workshops
• Seek and develop forms of collaboration with retail markets, travel chains, and consortia to drive booking performance via third-party wholesalers incl. DMC (for assigned markets).
• Develop and execute creative sales and marketing campaigns to increase brand and product awareness or on a more commercial approach generate leads.
• Participate in the development of product by monitoring feedback from markets, monitor trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback
• Lead, motivate, and manage a local team of business development executives.
• Handle and support with assigned tasks in the sales and marketing department

• Identify areas for continual improvement in the relevant areas. Seek and develop better ways to fulfill the role and to continually improve on daily basis
