JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team within a high-volume manufacturing environment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Manages workplace safety initiatives, environmental compliance, risk assessments, incident investigations, safety training, and continuous improvement projects. Partners with production, engineering, and leadership teams to reduce hazards, promote a strong safety culture, achieve sustainability objectives, and maintain ISO management system compliance while supporting operational excellence and employee well-being.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establish and drive annual EHS objectives, targets, and strategic improvement plans in alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and periodically review EHS policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Prepare, manage, and monitor the EHS budget, ensuring efficient utilization of resources while maintaining compliance and achieving departmental objectives.
• Lead and sustain compliance with SMETA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other applicable management systems, ensuring successful completion of internal, external, and customer audits.
• Manage environmental permitting and regulatory documentation, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental Permits (EP), and trial operation approvals for facility expansion and business unit projects.
• Oversee waste management, material disposal, and finished goods destruction activities to ensure full compliance with customs, environmental, and other governmental regulations.
• Ensure compliance with FM Global standards, fire prevention requirements, and local firefighting regulations through effective implementation and follow-up actions.
• Lead investigations of workplace incidents, near misses, occupational injuries, and environmental events, ensuring timely reporting and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Facilitate monthly cross-functional EHS review meetings and track the timely closure of action items.
• Review and evaluate EHS aspects of new equipment installations, capital investments, and process improvement projects in collaboration with department heads prior to operational startup.
• Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all statutory EHS reports and regulatory filings to relevant government authorities.
• Design and implement EHS programs, campaigns, and initiatives to strengthen employee engagement and foster a positive safety culture across the organization.
• Lead energy management and sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing consumption of electricity, water, and other natural resources.
• Collaborate with the Communications team to develop and deliver EHS communications, awareness campaigns, and quarterly updates.
• Coordinate and submit Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), ESG, sustainability, and Envizi reports to corporate and group stakeholders.
• Manage contractors' EHS performance and compliance, ensuring adherence to company standards, permit-to-work requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Perform additional duties and special projects assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance, management systems, risk assessment, and safety culture development.
Technical Knowledge & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of occupational safety, environmental compliance, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques, including Fishbone Diagram, 5 Whys, and other problem-solving tools.
• Familiarity with EHS legal requirements, environmental permitting, emergency response management, and fire protection standards.
• Experience with sustainability, ESG reporting, and energy management initiatives is preferred.
