About Thryve Vietnam
Combining the execution speed of Rocket Internet with the operational excellence of Bending Spoons, Thryve Vietnam builds, acquires, and invests in SMEs with proven product-market fit, scaling them through operational excellence and data-driven growth.
Our ambition is to become Vietnam's leading venture-building and new-age private equity platform.
About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Product Lead, also known internally as a Launcher, to take a new business from blank page to live and selling in six weeks, not six months. This role borrows the discipline of the Rocket Internet playbook and the operator hustle of early Uber city launchers, then rebuilds it for Thryve's reality: a small, fast-moving Vietnamese holding company that treats every new venture as a live experiment, not a five-year plan.
You will be dropped into a new business idea with almost nothing but a thesis and a deadline. Your job is to build the operation around it: sourcing, pricing, first customers, first hires, first cash flow, in six weeks flat. Then you hand it off, or stay to run it, and move to the next one.
You will not do this alone. Every launch is a team sport at Thryve. You will work shoulder to shoulder with our Tech Lead to get a venture's website and systems live, our Growth Lead to find and win the first customers, our Ops Lead to make sure the operation actually runs once it is live, and our Investment Lead to pressure-test whether the numbers justify going further.
Your job is to move fast and pull the right people in at the right moment, not to carry the whole launch on your own shoulders.
Who You'll Work With
Thryve is small and deliberately so. You will be surrounded by some of the youngest, sharpest, and most driven operators in the country: people who chose Thryve specifically because they want to build real things and do business differently before heading off to a top-tier MBA. Expect to be challenged, pushed, and occasionally out-argued by people years younger than a typical hire in your role elsewhere. That is the point.
Tech Lead: Turns your launch plan into a live website and working systems, on a two-week build clock.
Growth Lead: Gets the first customers in the door and finds what actually drives demand.
Ops Lead: Builds the processes that let a venture run smoothly once the adrenaline of launch wears off.
Investment Lead: Stress-tests the numbers and helps decide whether a venture deserves more capital, a pivot, or a graceful exit.
What You'll Do
1. Launch, Start to Finish
Own the full zero-to-launch sprint for a new Thryve venture: market validation, supplier or partner sourcing, pricing, first sales, and operating rhythm, compressed into six weeks.
Build the minimum viable operation first and prove real demand before asking for more resources.
Recruit, brief, and manage the first small team or contractors a new venture needs to function.
Make the calls a normal company would take months to make: what to sell, who to sell it to, and how to get the first ten paying customers this week.
2. Go Wherever the Work Is
Survey a cemetery plot for Project Banyan in the morning and be on a flight to Shanghai that evening to source a new product line. This role has no fixed desk and no fixed industry.
Move fluidly between physical, on-the-ground operator work (site visits, supplier negotiations, vendor walkthroughs) and fast desk research (market sizing, competitor teardown, unit economics).
Treat travel, discomfort, and unfamiliar industries as the job, not an exception to it.
3. Validate Fast, Kill Fast
Run cheap, rapid tests to find out if a business idea actually works before Thryve commits real capital to it.
Recommend killing an idea as confidently as recommending doubling down on one; both are wins if the decision is right.
Build simple financial models and unit economics to test whether a new venture can become one of Thryve's next million-dollar product lines.
4. Operate Like an Owner, With a Team Behind You
Report directly to the CEO and President with clear, honest updates on what is working and what is not.
Coordinate daily with the Tech, Growth, Ops, and Investment Leads so each launch moves as one coordinated push, not four separate workstreams.
Set up the operating basics (pricing, ops SOPs, vendor contracts) so a venture can run without constant hand-holding once it is live.
Stay hands-on with the numbers: revenue, margin, cash burn, and time to break-even for every venture you touch.
What We're Looking For
1. Versatility
Can credibly operate across wildly different industries, from funeral services to consumer products to travel, without needing months to ramp up.
Equally comfortable negotiating with a supplier on a factory floor and building a pricing model in a spreadsheet the same week.
2. Unmatched Grit
Has a track record of pushing through ambiguity, exhaustion, and setbacks to get something live on a deadline.
Treats a six-week deadline as fixed and finds a way to hit it, not as a suggestion to renegotiate.
Willing to fly out on short notice, work through weekends during a launch sprint, and pick up unfamiliar tasks without being asked twice.
3. Commercial Instinct
Has a nose for what will actually sell in Vietnam and the region, not just what looks good in a deck.
Comfortable making judgment calls with incomplete information and owning the outcome.
4. Trusted Operator
Exhibits sound judgment and discretion when representing Thryve to suppliers, partners, and early customers.
Communicates clearly and honestly with leadership, including when a launch is behind or an idea should be killed.
Preferred Qualifications
Outstanding academic background from a top tier university.
1-4 years in a high-intensity, execution-heavy environment: startups, venture building, consulting, private equity operations, or founder roles.
Demonstrated experience launching something real from scratch, ideally under a hard deadline.
Comfortable with financial modeling and basic unit economics, without needing to be a trained analyst.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently, often on short notice, domestically and internationally.
Strong Vietnamese and English communication skills; regional language exposure (Mandarin, in particular) is a plus.
Why Join Us
Six-Week Sprints, Not Six-Month Roadmaps: See a business go from idea to live, get paid, and move to the next one, over and over.
Total Variety: No two launches look alike. One month it is funeral services, the next it is sourcing product from Shanghai.
Real Ownership: You build the first version of the business with your own hands, not a slide about it.
A Team, Not a Solo Act: A dedicated Tech, Growth, Ops, and Investment Lead work alongside you on every launch, so you are never building alone.
World-Class Peers: Work daily with some of the youngest, smartest, and most ambitious operators in Vietnam, many on their way to a top-tier MBA.
Entrepreneurial Environment: Build and scale real businesses with tangible impact.
Meritocratic Culture: Advancement based on performance and ownership.
Silicon Valley-Inspired Workplace: Flat hierarchy with curated perks, including a stocked kitchen, happy hours, summer house, and guest speaker series.
Compensation & Benefits
Market-Leading Salary with performance bonuses
Mentorship for top-tier MBA programs (e.g., Stanford or Harvard)
Accelerated Career Path within the Thryve venture ecosystem
Travel Covered for all launch-related trips, domestic and international
16 Days of Paid Annual Leave plus national holidays
Six Months of Inclusive Paid Parental Leave for all parents
Diversity & Inclusion
At Thryve Vietnam, we value diversity and inclusion. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
How to Apply
Email your CV to [protected info] with the subject line "Product Lead / Launcher - [Your Name]". Please also prepare two professional references that we can contact by phone, and one story of something you built or launched under real pressure.
