Quality Inspector

I. GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Job Title: Quality Inspector - Welding
2. Report to: Quality Engineer
3. Working Location: Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park, Ba Ria & Vung Tau Province, Vietnam (Shuttle bus will be provided from 3 locations: Ho Chi Minh City, Bien Hoa City, and Vung Tau City)
II. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Assurance:
1. Monitor and verify that dimension & welding activities meet the required quality standards and specifications.
2. Identify and report any dimensions and welding defects.
3. Establish and manage the WPS/PQR for the project and Welder qualification.
4. Monitor the Welder qualification status.
5. Monitor welding process, such as: WPS, Material, Traceability, PWHT...
Inspection and Testing:
1. Incoming inspection for the steel plate, accessory, and semi-machining product.
2. Conduct fit-up & dimension inspection to ensure the products are compliant with the drawing
3. Inspect welding procedures, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API).
4. Perform visual inspections of welds during and after the welding process.
5. Monitoring non-destructive testing (NDT) methods conducted by 3rd party, such as ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and reviewing the NDT reports.
6. Verify weld dimensions, profiles, and alignment using precision measuring tools.
7. Conduct Dimension & final inspection, and others as required by the project
8. Witness inspection with the Clients or/and/or Third party.
9. Other inspection & test task assign by the Quality Engineer/ Manager
Documentation and Reporting:
1. Maintain detailed records of inspection results, including photographs, reports, and test data.
2. Prepare and submit inspection reports to the Quality Engineer/ Manager
3. Ensure all documentation complies with project requirements and industry standards.
Coordination and Communication:
1. Liaise with the QA engineer and the project team to coordinate inspection activities and resolve any issues.
2. Provide technical guidance and support to coating applicators and other project personnel.
Safety and Environmental Compliance:
1. Ensure all inspection & test activities are conducted in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
2. Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
