About the Role
Our client is a Singapore-based technology company developing and operating a large-scale digital healthcare platform.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Technical Lead to guide the engineering team in building, scaling, and continuously improving the platform. The role will be responsible for technical direction, system architecture, engineering quality, and the successful delivery of secure and reliable software solutions.
The platform includes Flutter mobile applications, React-based web portals, [protected info] backend services, and integrations with healthcare and third-party systems.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership:
Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of mobile, frontend, and backend engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Architecture and Design:
Define and evolve the overall architecture across Flutter mobile applications, React web platforms, and [protected info] backend services.
Solution Development:
Design scalable, secure, and maintainable backend services, APIs, microservices, and system integrations.
Hands-on Contribution:
Contribute directly to the design and development of critical or technically complex system components.
Code Quality:
Establish engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure the reliability, security, performance, and maintainability of the codebase.
Project Delivery:
Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and delivery plans.
Integration:
Oversee integrations with healthcare systems, payment services, identity providers, video communication platforms, notification services, and other third-party solutions.
Cloud and DevOps:
Work with DevOps engineers to improve cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, deployment, and release processes.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure that the platform follows appropriate data privacy, application security, and healthcare compliance requirements.
Technical Escalation:
Act as the highest point of technical escalation for complex production incidents, performance bottlenecks, and system-level issues.
Technical Planning:
Identify architectural risks, technical dependencies, and scalability concerns while providing reliable technical estimates.
Documentation:
Maintain architecture designs, API specifications, technical decisions, and operational documentation.
Requirements
At least 10 years of hands-on software development experience.
A proven track record of at least 3-5 years in a Technical Lead, Lead Software Engineer, or similar leadership role.
Strong knowledge of system design, microservices, distributed systems, API integration, and event-driven architecture.
Experience designing and operating scalable backend systems using SQL and NoSQL databases.
Proficiency in cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS or Azure.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring, and production deployment.
Good understanding of authentication, authorization, encryption, application security, and secure handling of sensitive data.
Strong experience in troubleshooting complex technical and production issues.
Strong hands-on experience with [protected info], TypeScript, and RESTful API development.
Solid experience with React and modern web application architecture.
Experience with Flutter, Dart, and cross-platform mobile application development.
Willingness to remain hands-on while leading and mentoring the engineering team.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Good English communication skills and the ability to work effectively with regional technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in HealthTech, telemedicine, insurance, banking, or another regulated industry.
Experience building applications that handle sensitive personal or healthcare data.
Familiarity with PDPA, HIPAA, or equivalent data privacy and security standards.
Knowledge of healthcare integration standards such as HL7 or FHIR.
Experience building and operating high-availability, high-traffic consumer applications.
Experience managing mobile application releases through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Previous experience working with distributed or regional engineering teams.
