The Senior
Business Development Manager will lead OnPoint's business growth through strategic partnerships, market expansion, and acquisition opportunities in Vietnam and across the region. The role ensures commercial diversification and builds future growth engines beyond existing categories and brands.
This is a critical succession and growth enabler role for OnPoint's next commercial phase. The right candidate combines strategic foresight, partnership-building strength, and execution discipline, driving the company's transition from a category-led to a growth-diversified organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Business Development
• Define and execute the company's business development roadmap, focusing on high-impact growth opportunities across eCommerce, services, and new markets.
• Identify and assess new revenue models or service lines that align with OnPoint's strategic direction.
• Lead Vietnam Acquisition - Commercial & Services, and regional expansion projects for brands
• Lead the end-to-end acquisition cycle, from deal sourcing and negotiation to post-acquisition integration.
• Build and manage key commercial partnerships with brands, distributors, and strategic business allies to accelerate NMV/revenue and profitability.
• Ensure all partnership and acquisition activities are financially sound, legally compliant, and operationally feasible. Identify emerging opportunities in assigned categories
2. Market research & Analysis
• Conduct ongoing market research and competitive benchmarking to identify potential business or investment opportunities.
• Evaluate financial and strategic fit for each project, working with Finance and Strategy teams to assess ROI and risk exposure.
• Track project performance, ROI, and synergy realization; provide regular updates to management
3. Cross function collaboration & Team Leadership
• Partner with Commercial Directors, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Technology teams to ensure new initiatives integrate seamlessly with existing operations.
• Support capability readiness and process alignment to enable new business models or market entries.
• Define KPIs and reporting mechanisms for all BD projects.
• Provide regular progress updates, performance reviews, and strategic recommendations to the respective Department Heads and management team
Success Metrics:
1. First 30 days: Business Understanding & Alignment
• Understand OnPoint's strategy, commercial structure, and current BD projects.
• Build key relationships with Commercial, Finance, Legal, and Ops.
• Identify quick wins or potential growth areas.
2. First 60 days: Market Scan & Opportunity Development
• Conduct market and competitor review.
• Build BD pipeline and prioritize opportunities with the highest impact.
• Align roadmap & business cases with various Commercial Directors & Finance.
• Develop a robust acquisition process / engine
3. First 90 days: Execution & Influence
• Launch at least one pilot partnership or acquisition initiative.
• Gain cross-functional buy-in and establish BD performance KPIs.
• Build tracking dashboard for ongoing projects.
4. 6-12 months: Impact & Institutionalization
• Deliver 2-3 impactful deals or partnerships with measurable NMV/revenue growth (new market entry, key partnership, or acquisition),
• Develop standardized BD process and governance framework.
• Strengthen internal BD capability and succession readiness.
1. Education background requirements: Bachelor or Master degree
2. Experience/Industry requirements:
• 10+ years of experience in Business Development and Strategic Partnerships in eCommerce, FMCG or Digital Retail.
• Proven track record in managing acquisitions, partnership negotiations, and strategic growth projects
3. Competency requirements:
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, negotiation, and analytical capability.
• Proven ability to translate market insights into commercial strategy
• Strategic yet hands-on leader, capable of managing complex cross-functional initiatives
• High adaptability, resilience, and result orientation.
