The
Accounting Manager acts as the Chief Accountant for Go Vacation Vietnam, taking full responsibility for the company's accounting operations and statutory compliance in accordance with Vietnamese Accounting Law and tax regulations. The role ensures accurate, timely, and legally compliant financial and tax reporting, supports and reports directly to the General Manager of GV Vietnam with the dotted line to General Manager Finance and Administration in Thailand, and provides periodic financial information as required. This is a hands-on role: the Accounting Manager must be able to personally perform senior-level accounting and tax work (not only review and oversee), so they can step in to directly handle tasks when the team needs backup, and can properly verify and review the team's work with real, practical understanding.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting
• Take full responsibility, as Chief Accountant, for the company's accounting system, records, and statutory financial statements in compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS)
• Oversee the full cycle of accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and fixed assets
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process, including the handling of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Gather and analyze financial information to produce reports as required by the General Manager and the Management, and by the Group company in Germany, when needed
• Preparation and monitor of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow statements
Tax Compliance
• Ensure full compliance with Vietnamese tax law, including corporate income tax (CIT), VAT, foreign contractor tax (FCT), and other statutory obligations
• Directly manage tax declarations, filings, and payments; act as the main contact with local tax authorities, including during tax audits/inspections
• Keep up to date with changes in Vietnamese tax regulations and advise the General Manager and the Management on compliance risks and implications
• Handling the monthly payroll processing and some HR-related works
Audit & Internal Controls
• Responsible for year-ended account audits and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and statutory reviews
• Handling administrative functions for IT and HR team
• Design, implement, and maintain internal control processes across accounting and operational areas
Team & Process Leadership
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members
• Be able to personally step in and perform senior accountant-level tasks (e.g., journal entries, reconciliations, tax filings) to backup the team when needed, not only review and delegate
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and internal controls
• Support system/ERP-related accounting tasks and data mapping as needed
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Holds a Chief Accountant Certificate (Chứng chỉ
Kế toán trưởng) as required under Vietnamese regulations
• Minimum 8+ years of accounting experience in Vietnam, including at least 2-3 years in a Chief Accountant or managerial role
• In-depth, up-to-date knowledge of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and Vietnamese tax law (CIT, VAT, PIT, FCT, etc.)
• Experience working directly with Vietnamese tax authorities and coordinating with external auditors
• Experience in the travel, tourism, or DMC industry is a plus
• Good English proficiency (speaking and writing) for reporting purposes
• Proficient in Excel and accounting/ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamin 365 or so-called "Navision" is preferable (SAP experience is a plus)
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, combined with hands-on ability to personally execute senior-level accounting and tax tasks (not only manage/review) when needed to backup the team
• High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work under deadlines
