Academic Manager

I. JOB PURPOSE
The Academic Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the academic quality, consistency, and effectiveness of teaching and learning across all Focus Learning centers. This role includes managing teachers and teaching assistants, curriculum development, training, student learning outcomes, and academic support systems, contributing to the overall success and reputation of Focus Learning.
II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Academic Strategy & Quality Control
Develop and implement academic policies and standards across all centers.
Monitor teaching quality and student progress, ensuring alignment with Focus Learning's vision.
Lead the design and revision of curriculum frameworks, course syllabi, and assessment systems.
Conduct academic audits and classroom observations regularly.
2. Teacher & TA Management
Recruit, train, evaluate, and support foreign/local teachers and teaching assistants.
Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and professional development sessions.
Build a high-performing, motivated academic team across the centers.
Supervise Teacher Leaders (ATL) to ensure smooth operation and effective communication.
3. Student Outcomes & Academic Support
Oversee placement tests, progress reports, and academic counseling.
Analyze student performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Address academic concerns from students or parents and ensure timely resolutions.
Develop enrichment programs to enhance students' learning experiences.
4. Curriculum & Resource Development
Select, evaluate, and update textbooks and learning materials.
Design and implement supporting resources (flashcards, worksheets, learning aids).
Lead academic event planning (e.g., competitions, showcases, workshops).
Introduce innovative tools and methods (e.g., VR, gamified learning).
Develop the STEAM English program to suit any teaching model at Focus Learning (main course, sub course, extra course, partnership school programs, etc.) in alignment with the STEAM education orientation.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
Coordinate with Center Managers, Customer Service, and Marketing for program planning and implementation.
Provide academic input for campaigns, promotional materials, and parent communications.
Work with Finance/HR on budgeting, payroll, recruitment, and training logistics.
6. System & Process Management
Standardize and optimize academic workflows across centers.
Supervise onboarding and ongoing training for academic staff.
Ensure accurate academic documentation and system data management.
Propose and implement improvements to the academic operations.
